These socks for my dad are officially off the needles and even though they gave me a hard time while I was knitting them, they're pretty perfect now. A good soak in wool wash until the water ran clear was all it took to set the colour (I hope... I will advise that they wash these only with dark loads the first few times) and now that the 3x1 ribbing is behind me, I can look at these beauties and admire them for what they are: a great colour, a beautiful fabric, and a cozy sock. Dad will love them.
Now to finish this second pair of socks that I've had on the go forever. I've got one purple sock down, and am about 1/4 of my way through the second. I'd like to have these finished by the end of the month so I can start the November TFA KAL fresh!

Oh my! I do love those blue socks but the purple ones are to die for! What a beautiful colour!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do a pair of 3x1 socks but like you I don't think I'd get them finished. I have a hard enough time with sss as it is.
ReplyDeleteThose socks look fantastic all finished up, hopefully there won't be any more dye leakage. The in-progress pair is even prettier in person!
ReplyDeleteLove your dad's socks!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to try socks, I have dpn phobia, lol.
i know they were a beast to knit, but they sure are lovely! well knit, tanis!
ReplyDeletecongratulations, that must have been a wonderful feeling sewing up that second toe! they are gorgeous socks and your dad will love them :O)
ReplyDeleteYay, you finished them! They look so warm and comfy!!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! I know how tedious socks can be. I'm just starting the second pair for my father-in-law for Christmas. I say every year how much I hate knitting socks and every year he asks for socks...
ReplyDeleteThis is marvelous I didn't know about all this until I stumbled upon this blog post of yours over here. I also would like to ask you something that is connected with your blog. Do you happen to know how to defend your own ideas from being used without your awareness about it?
