I've already mentioned that Chris and I tackled a tomato garden for the first time this year, and it's been a huge success! We eat tomatoes every day and love them. I also have a few flowering perenials, which are my favourite things to have in my garden. They are so rewarding. They come back every year, and are so pretty.

We planted several different tomato specimens, but y'know, the sweetest ones and my favourite ones are the simple red cherry tomatoes.
Watching the tomatoes ripen on the vine is like magic. The way that they naturally ripen in a gradient rainbow is right up my alley!

are you going to make these colors a kit?
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures! I adore perennials too!
ReplyDeleteLove your tomato collage Tanis!!! What are the varieties in the pics, I'd love to know (does that make me a total gardening geek?). I think the west coast is a little behind when it comes to tomatoes ripening, of my 13 varieties only 3 have ripened so far.
ReplyDeleteHomegrown tomatoes are my favorite part of summer! They taste SO MUCH better than the ones you buy in the store. I have quite a few waiting for me out in my garden that need to be picked (hybrid grape, an excellent choice!). Not to mention zucchini and summer squash...yum.
ReplyDeleteJealous of your tomatoes -- the extremely hot weather in Minnesota this year is being rough on my garden. NOTHING is ripe yet, and although I'm getting vines all over the place, there is very little fruit yet. That spectrum picture of the cherry tomatoes is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, is that one of your Yarn Palettes? And if not, why not? Spectacular!
ReplyDeletelove the flowers, and all your beautiful litte tomatoes! nothing tastes fresher than veg you grow yourself.
ReplyDeleteTanis, I love your garden pics - I grow many of the same flowers and vegetables, and especially love the hydrangeas - check out how they grow down here in Oregon on my blog:

Our tomatoes are just starting to ripen, probably because of cold and wet weather through June. Your photos make me wish that they would hurry up!
