This is the absolutely breathtaking hydrangea that lives on my front stoop, right by my front door. You saw snippets of it here on my mother's day post. I didn't think that it was possible, but the colours seem to be getting richer, darker, brighter, more magnificent with each passing day.
I'm doing my absolutely best to take very good care of it. It's currently in a big pot and my plan is to transplant it into my front garden at the end of the summer, hoping it will come back next spring just as beautiful.

That is an stunningly beautiful colour. One of absolute favourites, right up there with bluebells.
ReplyDeleteI'm now wondering why I don't have any yarn in that colour in my stash.
Hydrangeas are quit lovely. See my closeup shot of one of these beauties. I just had to capture the subtle colors. Now it pink. Yours is fabulous - what a deep calming wow blue to welcome guests to your home. This plant is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThe color is indeed incredible. Spring is lovely isn't it? Are you planning on capturing this color for your yarn?
ReplyDeletePlease tell me you've held a skein of Ultraviolet up to the hydrangea for comparison!!
ReplyDeleteOh that is one beautiful hydrangea. I always think it is too bad they don't have any smell. They are so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow utterly gorgeous. It brightened a cloudy day here!
ReplyDeletepretty stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteOk... So tell us. Which of your dyed yarns most closely matches those magnificent blooms?!!?!
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning!
ReplyDelete...did you know that the colour of a hydrangea is determined by the pH of the soil it's growing in!
So beautiful! My favorite color/flower as well!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of you! My hydrangea hasn't bloomed yet this spring. It's not potted though, it's already in the flower bed. I can see that it's getting ready to but I keep telling it, "Come on! It's almost June!"
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful. I am 100% stunned at your ability to keep flowers alive.
ReplyDeleteWhat Jane said is true. A hydrangea in a pot may be a different color in the soil! Be sure to use as much of the pot soil when you plant it in the ground. What is a beautiful violet shade this year may be pink next year!
ReplyDeleteIt really is lovely!
Janet
I think the next TFA color should be "Hydrangea". Yes, my favorite flower color too.
ReplyDeleteThe purply/blue hydrangeas were my wedding bouquet!!! Hydrangeas ar by far my favorite flower!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! I wish I had some yarn in this color... :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pops of color. Just awesome. You'll have to take pics next year and contrast the color season-to-season.
